I am not so good at:
I am complimented the most about: What I like about myself: "I'm seeking true friendship and/or a serious relationship" "Harmless Error's" Article Dear Sirs and/or Madams, My name is Keith Allen Lewis Sr., P70532 and I am incarcerated, unfortunately, on San Quentin's Death Row. I, speaking for myself and my fellow inmates alike, would like to say that we deeply appreciate any and all assistance which you or your organization may be able to provide to us.
There is an issue that comes to mind at this
particular time, that is the issue of what is called, "Harmless
Errors"...this is a condition which the general public may not be familiar
with at all. Harmless Error is misconduct which occurs before, during, after
trials and particularly in all phases of Death Penalty cases. Not just in
some Death Penalty cases, but in ALL DEATH PENALTY CASES. This
misconduct is presented intentionally in front of and to the juries, but the
trial courts, the appellate courts and even the United States Supreme Courts
call these misconducts...Harmless Errors. So, in other words, these courts
let evidence, testimony, arguments and other factors be introduced into the
trials and to the juries that should not be introduced-----or they allow
omissions of valuable evidence or information. Then all of these courts, in
conjunction with each other, say, "oh, we made mistakes and there was some
misconduct...however, the mistakes and misconduct were "Harmless Errors",
therefore the conviction stands and you may execute the defendant". How can the courts say that inenetional misconduct or mistakes are harmless??? How can the courts say that there is such a thing as a Harmless Error, when men and women's lives hang in the balance???? Death Penalty trials are not talking about the defendant doing (1) year in the county jail, or doing (5) years in prison...Our lives are at stake! Misconduct or mistakes, intentional or not, should absolutely not be tolerated at any time, during any court action, much less a Death Penalty trial!!! Death Row inmates across this nation need support. We need concerned people, such as yourselves, and organizations or groups such as yours to speak with people at large, clergy members/religious groups and local and/or national politicians....we need you to vigorously demand that , Harmless Errors or not, "We will not tolerate any errors in Death Penalty trials!! We will not tolerate any errors in trials where a man's or woman's life is at stake...period!!!" People need to understand that prosecuters are trained to pursue an alleged Death Penalty case with extremely vigorous methods. They are urged on by their superiors and the knowledge that if they are successful, it would mean future advancement for them in the justice system. These methods often mean using supposition, hearsay and committing as many harmless errors that it takes to secure an unwarranted conviction. There may be some, who might not want to believe the message in this correspondence...However, this message is true. These injustices are occurring each and every day in courtrooms all across the United States of America!! This is all very sad, but it is very true. Incarcerated individuals all over the nation, need all those who are concerned to go to the ballots on these issues which are addressed in this correspondence. You all must know, that without votes to correct these injustices, many people will continue to be wrongfully convicted and wrongfully executed! May it be GOD's will that all who are concerned will join forces and come to the aid of all the wrongfully convicted inmates, especially those that sit on America's Death Row's... "May it be GOD's will"
Sincerely and Respectfully Submitted, |
