For sixteen years the system has attempted to devour me. Now thanks to a dedicated legal team and the dogged pursuit of truth by a journalist to whom I am very grateful, the falsehood and fabrications that have been used as the basis for a wrongful conviction are being exposed. Difficult losses in recent years, such as my mother's death, have overtaken me without warning. Meaningful human interactions have become fewer. The help and support from loved ones is vanishing. I am becoming more and more alone in an already lonely situation.

 

Now when hope is being revived in my life because of significant developments in my legal case, loneliness threatens to outpace hope. It is difficult to take solace in hope while loneliness overtakes me.
