I thought that this time I would do something differently, and I ask you that you please bar with me. I want to let all of you know that there are so many things that could be said about Petra. E. Herrmann, Chairwoman, for the ALIVE, COALITION TO ABOLISH THE DEATH PENALTY, this lady has been doing so many things for so many people for so many years that it would take a very long time to try and write about it all, suffice it to say, she has been the positive difference in so many of our lives and we are grateful and appreciate the fact that she is in our corner.

I need friends as we all do, but today it is not just about me. Today I am asking that you please consider being a member of ALIVE, the COALITION TO ABOLISH THE DEATH PENALTY. Many people think that the organization is just about helping and being a friend to someone on death row, but I can assure you that it is more to it than just this.

You see, no matter what the situation or personal circumstances, there will always come a time when we all need to have that a friend whom we can communicate with, and sometimes just be able to share the daily events with someone.

Being a member of the ALIVE/COALITION TO ABOLISH THE DEATH PENALTY, will give you an opportunity to become active in the effort to show the world that we all are human and we need to threat each other as humanely as possible, and with dignity and respect.

There are members that you will be able to communicate with, share ideas with, and of course you will be able to meet some very very wonderful caring people.

This is the opportunity to do something for yourself, and in the process you will be offering someone, somewhere hope. Each letter brings with it sunshine. It is not always about money, stamps and books etc etc, sure those things are truly welcomed, but they are secondary.

What is needed more than anything, are caring people willing to help send some sunshine into the lives of those whom have been condemned by society. What is needed are people willing to become members of ALIVE/COALITION TO ABOLISH THE DEATH PENALTY, because I know that as a member of this organization I will always be able to look forward to having a friend somewhere in this world..
